Terms of Use

Chizld is a training log with a game on top. It is not a doctor, and the numbers it shows you are estimates, not measurements.
Agreement
These terms are between you and Marabar Studios, an independent studio registered in India, and they govern your use of the Chizld mobile application. By installing or using Chizld you accept them. If you do not, do not use the app.
How Chizld handles your data is covered separately in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
Health and fitness — read this one
Chizld is not medical advice and is not a medical device. It does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent anything. It is a tracking and motivation tool for generally healthy adults.
Talk to a qualified professional before you start. Especially before beginning a new training programme, changing what you eat, or acting on anything the app suggests — and particularly if you are pregnant, have any medical condition, are taking medication, or are recovering from injury.
Stop if something hurts. Strength training carries real risk of injury. You train at your own risk, and you are responsible for your own form, loading and judgement.
The numbers are estimates
Chizld calculates calorie and macronutrient targets, body-fat percentages, body ratios and progress trends. These come from general population formulas applied to numbers you enter yourself. They are approximations, they can be meaningfully wrong for any individual, and they are no substitute for clinical assessment. Treat them as a direction of travel, not a fact about your body.
The sunlight alarm
Chizld's alarm can be dismissed by taking your phone into daylight, and the app encourages morning light exposure because it is the strongest signal your circadian rhythm takes. That is general wellbeing information, not a treatment for insomnia, any sleep disorder, or any other condition.
The alarm can always be dismissed by swiping, with no daylight required and no penalty, so it can never leave you unable to use your phone. That said — do not rely on it as your only alarm for anything that matters. It depends on your device's alarm scheduling, battery settings, notification permissions and light sensor, any of which your phone may restrict without telling us. Set a second alarm for the flight.
Your data lives on your device
We hold no copy of your data, so we cannot restore it. Everything you log is stored only on your phone. If the device is lost, stolen, wiped, damaged, or the app is uninstalled, it is gone permanently.
Settings → Export backup exists for exactly this. Use it, and keep the file somewhere you trust. Backing up is your responsibility, and it is the only protection there is.
Using the app
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use Chizld on devices you own, for your own use, in line with these terms and Google Play's.
You agree not to reverse engineer, decompile or attempt to derive the source of the app except where law expressly allows it; not to redistribute, resell, rent or sublicense it; not to remove or obscure any ownership notices; and not to use it unlawfully or in any way that interferes with it or with other people's use of it.
Chizld, its name, design, artwork and code are owned by Marabar Studios and protected by copyright. Nothing here transfers any of that to you. What you log with it is yours — we claim no ownership of your data and, as above, hold no copy of it.
Purchases
Chizld is currently free, with no in-app purchases and no subscription.
If paid features are introduced, billing will run through Google Play under Google's payment terms, prices and renewal terms will be shown before you commit, and subscriptions will renew automatically until cancelled in your Google Play account. Refunds will follow Google Play's refund policy — we cannot process a refund for a purchase we did not take payment for. These terms will be updated before any of that goes live.
Third-party services
Chizld can open YouTube to show exercise form videos and can hand off to the ChatGPT app to help import a food label or a training programme. Those services are operated by other companies under their own terms and policies. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content, availability or conduct. Details of what is shared with them are in the Privacy Policy.
No warranty
Chizld is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, error-free, or that any result or calculation it produces is accurate.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Marabar Studios is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, nor for any loss of data, profits, revenue or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use Chizld — including any injury sustained while training, any outcome of following its suggestions, any alarm that failed to wake you, and any data lost from your device.
Where liability cannot lawfully be excluded, our total liability to you is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for Chizld in the twelve months before the claim, or ₹1,000.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
Ending it
You can stop using Chizld at any time by uninstalling it, which deletes your data from the device. We may suspend or end your licence if you materially breach these terms. The health disclaimers, the limitation of liability and the governing law survive.
Changes
We may update these terms as the app changes. The version and date at the top will change with them, and material changes will be surfaced in the app rather than quietly published here. Continuing to use Chizld after a change means you accept it.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of Bengaluru, Karnataka have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute — except where consumer protection law in your country of residence gives you the right to bring proceedings locally, which these terms do not take away.
